Research Mission
Faculty of the Department of Epidemiology and Health Policy Research provide leadership and expertise in their own areas of research in epidemiology, health policy/outcomes research, and biostatistics. General areas of leadership include child and adolescent health, genetic epidemiology, alcohol and substance abuse prevention, financing and organization of health care delivery systems, community health, chronic conditions, transition from pediatric to adult health care, access to healthcare for vulnerable populations, quality of life, and outcomes research.
Faculty collaborate extensively with researchers at the Health Sciences Center, other departments at the University of Florida, and at other Universities. Our research themes are broad and reflect the interests of faculty members. We are guided by the principle that optimal contributions result from a knowledge base that includes both depth and breadth of coverage in epidemiology, health services and outcomes research, and biostatistics. Current faculty research projects are described on the epidemiology, biostatistics, and health policy/outcomes research web pages and on each faculty member’s personal web page.
