Application Procedures

Applications for admission are expected to include:

  • Evidence of Baccalaureate Degree (with a GPA of at least 3.0 in upper division undergraduate coursework)
  • Recent scores (from within the last two years) on the Graduate Record Examination (Composite score of at least 1000 on the combined verbal and quantitative portions)
  • Typewritten personal narrative statement (2-3 pages) that includes why pursuing the training and career goals
  • Three letters of reference
  • Acceptance to the MS Program is based on the total profile of the applicant. This profile includes: academic qualifications, work experiences, community or volunteer service, career goals, the relative strength of each applicant compared to the current pool of applicants, and the number of students that can be accommodated by the track.

    The MS Admissions Committee is responsible for making the final selection and will notify students who are accepted. All applicants, transcripts, test scores and letters of reference are housed in the Department of EHPR. An application will not be considered until all materials (including test scores) have been received by the department.

    • August 1 for Fall semester admission to the program
    • December 1 for Spring semester admission to the program

      Financial Support:

      Efforts will be made to obtain training grants and incorporate positions for research assistants in all Departmental research grants to fund a limited number of graduate students. Students will be encouraged to gain practical experience by working with investigators within the Department of EHPR and/or other departments at the Health Sciences Center.
